Audi Sport Quattro '1985 is a rally car that dominated the World Rally Championship in 1981. The Sport Quattro was introduced in 1983 to address the shortcomings of the Quattro Group 4. The car was based on the mass-produced Quattro, but engineers removed 320mm from its middle, reducing the wheelbase to a competitive 2224mm. The inline 5-cylinder engine underwent significant internal changes, including the installation of a 20-valve head with two upper camshafts. The updated Quattro all-wheel-drive system was complemented by a 5-speed manual transmission. The car's external body panels were made of Kevlar and composite materials to reduce its weight.
